Brisbane Stadium: Brisbane 2032 Build-up
Victoria Park, Herston
A new stadium is being built in Victoria Park, the parkland between Herston and Spring Hill. The Queensland Government plans 63,000 seats, with up to 70,000 for concerts, and more than two thirds of the park is to stay free green public space.
It is planned to hold the opening and closing ceremonies and the athletics in 2032, and to be the Brisbane Lions’ home from 2033.
What’s happening
GIICA, the state’s venue authority, took over Victoria Park on 1 June 2026 and started early works, with parts of the park on the Herston side fenced off. Bulk earthworks are planned from late 2026 to early 2027.
